Zusammenfassung

Although considerable progress has been made in making research data FAIR, achieving interoperability remains a challenge for research communities and individual researchers. Beyond the development of ontologies and terminologies, two further aspects
must be addressed to achieve broadly connected knowledge graphs: 1) the specificity of research projects and their metadata requirements, 2) the integration of RDF-based metadata into everyday research workflows and tools. The AIMS project develops open-source tools for the creation of tailored metadata profiles and their integration into research workflows. Using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) as a scientific use case, we demonstrate how existing ontologies can be combined to create reusable metadata profiles. These profiles are then used to automatically generate metadata forms and search interfaces for knowledge graphs, while integration with eLabFTW enables metadata capture within existing laboratory workflows.
